Looks like I finally have the time to update my English language blog, given I have asthma the multinational where I hold my day job sent me home last Saturday since they were unable to tell if my usual breathing issues and sore throat were due to my usual health issues or if I was infected with the new corona-virus. I was not the only one, all of us with asthma, other respiratory illnesses or old age were sent home with full pay.
That was Saturday, yesterday they sent home everyone from our office building (1,400 strong) home with full pay until further notice (I was originally to stay home only up to the 27th of March), I guess the Portuguese government and the European Commission having promised financial aid to businesses to prevent them from firing people after the outbreak could possibly have something to do with it.
Anyway, here I am, back in English, and all it took was a hint of Apocalypse...
